My name is Chantelle and I am 13 years old.I live in Chingford with
my mum, brother, sister and nephew. When I started The 100 Black Men
of London mentoring programme I was excited because I had never done
anything like it before. The mentors took it in turns to do various
sessions with us. We talked about stuff like violence, self-identity,
peer pressure, guns, drugs, family roles and goals, we were shown how
to deal with situations like this.
Some of these things had an effect on me, like family roles and goals.
As The 100 Black Men went on the mentors took me and the rest of the
group to the science museum which I enjoyed and I think most of the
others did as well.
I am making history as I am one of the first girls in a mentoring programme
of The 100 Black Men of London. I think that The 100 Black Men of London
will go on for years and I want to thank the people who put it together.
