My name is Rosemary Charles a divorcee with 3 children
ages between 12 - 24 and 2 grandchildren. Within my career I have
worked as a copy typist, receptionist, PA, and ran a typing agency.
I offer IT training consultancy to commercial and charitable organisations.
I joined the 100 New Stars programme because I was looking for a mentor
for my youngest son, he is 13 years old and at the age where he is
developing an attitude. I felt that he needed to have a positive male
role image around him who will be able to guide him, for he is not
getting any of this from his father.
When I went to my first 100 meeting I was so impressed with the presentation
and what the 100 were trying to achieve with our youth I decided that
as well as wanting a mentor for my son I wanted to get involve so
as to be able offer my time in helping The 100 grow. The men in the
organisation are positive and doing a good job for our young children.
We do not have enough black men wanting to help the youth of today.
